Looks like my footwell module gave up the ghost. Headlights are borked I have no turn signals (is that a problem in a bmw?) and my windows don’t want to work. Also the car refuses to go into “ sleep” mode so that’s also fantastic. I just recently had an expensive service too... The only beacon of light I am holding onto is that BMW has an extended warranty on this part which hopefully fixes everything. I love this car but man I am ready for something new now. I was already tempted by the ZL1 and my BMW just hammered in the last nail for its coffin.

Sounds like it's time for a trip to Germany for a little insurance claim...

Which bmw is this again? Because if it’s the gen I’m thinking of, and you’re saying your light control module just went bad, the potential cause is even worse news.
The drain tubes for the sunroof shrink over time and since they were a simple compression fit they en d up disconnecting themselves . The water flows down the A pillar, kills the LCM, and pools under the carpet and foam without any indication whatsoever. You can have gallons of water under the carpet and never know it because of the acoustical foam, and incredible amounts of corrosion to electrical components. Left unchecked, it’ll end up corroding a bunch of connectors under the passenger seat carpeting as well.
Hopefully not the case here but if it were me I’d pull back the carpeting and underlay on the passenger side , just to be sure. If it’s wet down there, you have to drop the headliner and reattach the drain tubes.
Best wishes.

2012 335xi coupe, I find that scenario pretty unlikely. My recent service and the identical issues of many people with FRM problems have me thinking its just the module acting up. I’m dropping it off at a service center in a couple of days, biting whatever bullet to put it right and then trading it in for a new Camaro.

You’re not helping with my decision to buy a 2011 535...

Ya, not the gen I was thinking of at all. Had she been just a wee older though...

Honestly they are good cars, I have just had some horrific experiences with my usual local dealer who has recently become grossly incompetent. I am just ready for something new and fustrated at the timing of it. I have thoroughly enjoyed my ownership and apart from this most, of my issues have been self inflicted from driving the car pretty hard.
